A Heath Robinson Museum

The Trustees are working with The Pinner Association and Harrow Council to establish a permanent home for the Trust's collection in a purpose built museum in West House, Pinner. West House is situated in Pinner Memorial Park. There has been a house on the site for 500 years and it was once the home of the grandson of Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton. It is one of the few old houses in the area still standing in its own grounds. West House is a focal point for Pinner and the park, occupying the West ridge and balancing the Parish Church to the East. Without the house the park would be just another municipal park. The house has been allowed to fall into disrepair and the Pinner Association is taking the lead in trying to return it to use.

A Memorial

West House, with the park, was gifted by the people of Pinner to the Council in 1947 as a memorial to the War Dead. It was stipulated in the deed of gift that there should be a Shrine for Pinner's Book of Remembrance. The Association has therefore determined to mark the New Millennium by saving West House. It has set up a Fund Raising Committee to raise the necessary money to renovate West House and create a museum for the Heath Robinson Collection, a Millennium gallery of a standard suitable for national and international collections, a café, museum shop, community and educational facilities, and a permanent shrine for Pinner's Book of Remembrance. Work has started on phase 1 of the project to provide a temporary exhibition space, a shop, a cafe and offices. A further £315,000 is needed to complete this phase.

The Heath Robinson Connection

William Heath Robinson lived in Pinner for ten years from 1908. During this period he did some of his most important work. For this reason the William Heath Robinson Trust has joined with the Pinner Association to create a museum at West House. The project and the proposed fund raising Committee have the full backing of our local authority as the trustees of the Pinner War Memorial Fund. The Pinner Association is working with the Council, the William Heath Robinson Trust and the Charity Commission to make this project a reality.

The Friends

The Friends of the William Heath Robinson Trust is an independent group formed to assist in the promotion, support and development of the project. Friends will be kept informed of progress with the project, will be invited to private views of exhibitions organised by the Trust, and will be given the opportunity to buy pre-publication copies of prints,  publications and other items with a Heath Robinson association produced by the Trust. Those wishing to join the Friends are invited to send their name and address together with a donation of £15 to:
